Bulk Copy Takeoffs provides a quick way to duplicate multiple Takeoffs from one tag value to another within the same project. Use this feature when the same scope of work appears across several zones, phases, or areas and you want to avoid recreating Takeoffs individually. When your Takeoff list is grouped by a single tag, you can copy an entire set at once, helping you maintain consistency and reduce repetitive setup.
Use cases
You need to reuse the same or similar Takeoffs across multiple zones.
You organize project areas using tags.
You want to streamline Takeoff creation and reduce manual copying.
Example Scenario: Reusing Takeoffs Across Zones
You’ve completed a full set of Takeoffs for Zone 1, including plumbing fixtures, piping, and valves. Zones 2–6 use the same design and need the same Takeoffs.
Instead of copying each Takeoff one by one:
Group the Takeoff list by the Zone tag.
Open the three-dot menu (⋮) next to Zone 1 and select Copy Takeoffs to a Tag Value.
Select all Takeoffs and enter a new tag value called Zone 2.
Click Done.
Repeat this workflow for Zones 3 through 6.
This ensures each zone starts with the same Takeoff structure and significantly reduces setup time.
Key Information
Bulk Copy Takeoffs lets you copy multiple Takeoffs at once from one tag value to another within the same project.
Your Takeoffs list must be grouped by a single tag (for example, a Zone tag) to access this option.
Only Takeoffs are copied. Measurements are not copied. All copied Takeoffs start with zero measurements.
Copied Takeoffs keep their existing settings (appearance, items and assemblies, tag assignments, configuration).
You can copy to any existing tag value (including the one you started from) or create a new tag value in the same flow.
This feature is only available inside a project. It is not supported in the Takeoff Library.
Bulk Copy Takeoffs to Another Tag Value Overview
Bulk Copying Takeoffs to Another Tag Value
Use this single flow to copy one or more Takeoffs to another tag value.
Open your project in STACK Takeoff & Estimate.
Go to PLANS & TAKEOFFS.
Open the Takeoffs list.
Group the list by the tag you want to use (for example, Zone):
Use the Group by control.
Select the tag (e.g., Zone).
Confirm that your Takeoffs now appear under tag values such as Zone 1, Zone 2, etc.Find the source tag value that contains the Takeoffs you want to copy (for example, Zone 1).
Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to that tag value.
Click Copy Takeoffs to a Tag Value.
A modal opens. By default, it selects the tag you are currently grouped by, but you can choose a different tag if needed. In the modal, select which Takeoffs to copy: Check each Takeoff you want to copy, or select all if needed.
Choose where to copy the Takeoffs:
In the Tag dropdown, confirm or change which tag you want to copy to.
Under Tag value, choose one of the following:
Select an existing tag value from the list (including the same value you started from), or
Create a new tag value by typing a name in the blank row at the bottom of the list (for example, Foundation). When you are ready, click Done.
A toast notification confirms that the copy completed.Back in the Takeoff list, expand the destination tag value you selected and confirm that the copied Takeoffs are present.
If you use manual sorting, the new Takeoffs use the next available sort order values.
Tips and Best Practices
Set up your tag structure early so zones or phases are clearly defined before you begin creating Takeoffs.
Use Bulk Copy after you finalize the Takeoffs in the source tag value to ensure consistency across all destinations.
Review copied Takeoffs to confirm they match the scope and conditions of the destination zone or area.
Use Bulk Copy to standardize repeated work across similar zones, phases, or areas.
Use this workflow to add Takeoffs to existing tag values without rebuilding them manually.
Limitations
Only Takeoffs are copied. Measurements are not included. All Takeoff settings—appearance, tag assignments, items, assemblies, and configuration—are preserved.
Bulk Copy is available only when the Takeoff list is grouped by one tag.

Color and appearance settings
All other tag assignments on the Takeoff
Item and assembly assignments
