The Audit Trail provides visibility into activity across Takeoffs by showing who made a change, what changed, and when it happened. It helps teams stay aligned, investigate changes, and maintain a reliable record of project activity.
Key Information
- Located in the Audit Trail tab within a project
- Displays a chronological log of activity across Project, Takeoff, and Measurement
- Includes user, action, timestamp, and context details
- Supports filtering, search, and CSV export
- Access limited to users with admin manage permission

Each event includes:

Clicking an event does not yet navigate to that location in the plan.

Actions Tracked
Audit Trail tracks activity across three categories:
| Category | Actions Tracked |
|---|---|
| Project | When a project is updated When a project status changes |
| Takeoff | When a takeoff is created When a takeoff is updated When a takeoff is copied When an item group is selected When an item group is changed When an item group is removed When takeoff values are set When takeoff values are updated When an assembly is added to a takeoff |
| Measurement | When a measurement is created When a measurement is changed When a measurement is removed When a label is assigned to a measurement |
Measurement events display total quantity only. Detailed measurement breakdown is not yet available.
Data Retention
- Audit history is available for 30 days
- Data older than 30 days is not retained in the UI
- Export regularly if longer-term records are required
When to Use Audit Trail
Use the Audit Trail to understand changes and activity across your Takeoffs:
- Investigate changes: Identify who modified a takeoff, measurement, or project setting and when it occurred
- Resolve discrepancies: Review recent updates when quantities, values, or groupings don’t match expectations
- Track team activity: See how multiple users are working within the same project
- Support reporting and compliance: Maintain a record of project activity for internal review or external requirements
- Reduce back-and-forth: Answer “who changed what” without needing to contact support
