IMPORTANT
For the best experience and to ensure all features function as intended, we recommend using an iPad that is 3 years old or newer. Older devices may not support certain features or may experience reduced performance.
Touch device support allows measurements, markups, annotations, and project workflows to be completed from an iPad using touch input or an Apple Pencil.
Access Takeoff & Estimate on an iPad
- Open a supported browser on an iPad.
- Navigate to STACK and sign in.
- Open the desired project.
- Access plans, takeoffs, estimates, reports, and other project information.
Create Measurements on a Touch Device
Measurements on touch devices use a gesture-based workflow.
| Gesture | Description |
|---|---|
| Touch and drag | Place the starting point and drag across the plan to create a measurement. |
| Tap | Add a corner or change direction while creating a measurement. |
| Long press (approximately 2 seconds) | Complete the measurement. |
To create a measurement:
- Touch and drag to start a measurement.
- Tap to create a turn.
- Continue dragging as needed.
- Long press for approximately two seconds to finish the measurement.
The same gesture-based workflow is used across supported measurement types.
TIP
Use an Apple Pencil for the most accurate measurement experience.
Create Markups and Annotations
Markups and annotations can be created using the same touch gestures used for measurements. When adding text, the device's on-screen keyboard appears, allowing text to be entered directly on the plan.
Use an Apple Pencil for Greater Precision
Takeoff & Estimate supports both touch input and Apple Pencil input. While measurements and markups can be created using either method, an Apple Pencil provides greater precision when working with detailed plans and drawings.
GOOD PRACTICE
Use an Apple Pencil when performing detailed takeoffs or creating precise markups to improve accuracy and control.
