Create Takeoffs Faster with the "Libraries" Tab

Devon Streckfuss

To create a Takeoff with associated cost data, you’d normally need to create a Takeoff, then open that Takeoff, and add any needed Items or Assemblies to it from your “Libraries”.

Use the following method to create a Takeoff directly from an Item, or Assembly stored in a Library, instead of having to create a Takeoff first like you would need to do otherwise:

  • Open a Plan in the “Plans & Takeoffs” section of any Project
  • Open the “Libraries” tab at the top of the lefthand menu
  • You won’t see a “Libraries” tab if your user account does not have the requisite permissions. Click here to review the permissions required to review library content.
  • Select the ellipsis (Three-dot) menu for the Item, or Assembly you want to use to create a Takeoff
  • Select the type of Takeoff you want to create.
