Getting Started with STACK IQ

Before using STACK IQ, confirm that:

  • Your company has an active STACK subscription.
  • You have access to ChatGPT or Claude.
  • You can sign in to an authorized STACK account with access to the appropriate companies and projects.

STACK IQ is included with current STACK subscriptions—no additional STACK subscription, upgrade, or purchase is required.

Connect STACK to Claude

Using the Claude desktop or web app:

  1. Open STACK’s listing in Anthropic’s connector directory and choose to add it. You can also reach the same listing from Claude’s own connector settings by browsing the directory for STACK. If the directory isn’t available to you, choose ‘Add custom connector’ in those settings instead and enter the connection URL: https://mcp.stackct.com/mcp
  2. Claude sends you to STACK to sign in.
  3. Review the STACK approval screen, choose which capabilities to allow, and confirm.
  4. Claude is now connected to STACK and ready to use.
  5. You're all set! Continue to the next section to try your first prompts with STACK IQ.

  3. Sign into STACK when prompted.
  4. Review the STACK approval screen, choose which capabilities to allow, and confirm.
  5. ChatGPT is now connected to STACK and ready to use.

Connect STACK to Other MCP Assistants

Any assistant that supports custom MCP connectors can connect to STACK:

  1. Add a new custom connector in that assistant using the connection URL: https://mcp.stackct.com/mcp
  2. Then complete the STACK sign-in and approval when prompted.

Try Your First Prompts

A great way to get started is by asking STACK IQ to help with a task you perform every day.

Here are a few examples:

  • Find the STACK Sample project and provide its Project ID.
  • List the takeoffs in the STACK Sample project.
  • Add takeoffs named Bathroom Walls, Shower/Tub, Toilet Walls, and Toilets to the STACK Sample project.
  • Change the four newly added takeoffs in the STACK Sample project to grass green.

For the best results:

  • Include the project name.
  • Clearly describe what information you need or what action you'd like to complete.
  • Provide any relevant names, colors, quantities, or other details.

If STACK IQ needs additional information, it may ask follow-up questions before completing your request.

Don't be afraid to experiment! Try asking STACK IQ to help with the tasks you perform most often. Exploring different prompts is one of the best ways to discover new workflows.

Review Before You Approve

Some actions require your approval before changes are made in STACK.

Before approving an action:

  • Confirm the correct project was identified.
  • Review the proposed changes.
  • Verify they match your request.
  • Approve the action.
  • Confirm the changes were applied as expected in STACK.

As with any AI-generated response, always review information for accuracy before approving changes.
