Rafters

Anyone got a trick for doing these on kind of complicated roofs? I’ve done a sheathing (pitched area) takeoff for each pitch, then exploded them to a lineal footage measurement for the rafters, but that was more so I could just print the picture off and figure it by hand. Curious if anyone’s cooked up a formula to let the software do it.

Hey Craig. I think I have a solution for you. After exploding the grid lines to a pitched linear takeoff, you can add an assembly that will check the length of each line and assign the appropriate sized board to it. We have some you can try:
