Sorting in an Estimate
Wondering if anyone can confirm… I've got an estimate format I've saved. It's grouped by a tag I called Load. One of my tags is called Helps with takeoff types (area, pitched area, pitched lineal) that I use for exploding to other takeoffs, or just for quickly checking something.
When I sort by group, sometimes the takeoffs with the groups would get scrambled up. Then when I sort by takeoff name, the groups would be out of order. Here's the confirmation part…
It appears that when I sort by group, and the takeoffs are scrambled, they are actually in the order that I added them to the project from my library. So, when I sort by takeoff name, that Helps group would get mixed in out of order. I'm thinking if I throw Helps in first, then I can sort by takeoff name and the rest of the groups will stay in order (as long as I go down through the list in the order I have them sorted in my library).
I'm going to test with the next set of prints I get (I've been waiting over four hours now…) but wondered if anyone else had run across this.

When you group by a tag, the takeoffs inside each group aren’t necessarily re-sorted alphabetically, they can reflect the order in which they were added to the project (for example, when they were brought in from your Takeoff Library). So if you imported them at different times or in a different sequence than your library order, the grouped list can look “scrambled.”
