Cutouts

Anyone else noticing this? When I press C twice in a row (so that I'm in rectangular cutout mode) I can do one cutout, then I have to press C C again. I'm fine, until I move on to the next sqft area that I'm going to cut out of.

Curious why I don't stay in cutout mode after that first cutout

  • Great question! Craig Parker The Cut out tool is currently paired per measurement. I'll share the feedback with product :)

  • I just want to be clear, my first cut is on one measurement. My second cut is on the same measurement. It's almost like I hit Esc in between (which I'm used to doing when I'm going to cut out of a different measurement). Just not sure if it's a bug or a feature.

  • This has been driving me nuts, too! It used to be that you could select a measurement, then cut as many times as you wanted on the selected measurement. Now it closes it after each cut the same way the line cut does (which also drives me up the wall).

  • Thanks all! I'm not aware of anything we did to specifically changes this. We'll look into this.

  • Hey Craig Parker and Selene Dunham thanks for sharing you thoughts on our cut out tool. Our recommended workflow for the Cut Out tool is to select the area-type measurement on the page, then hit c to enter Cut Mode. Following this process, I'm able to add multiple cuts to the selected measurement without having to re-enter Cut Mode. Are these the steps you're following from your ends?

  • Yes, Katie Blue , that is exactly what I am doing.  It is the exact same thing I have done to make cut outs for the past 8 years on Stack.
